Surprisingly enough, it's not us. Although - according to 'fitness tracker' Jawbone.com's findings - we do tend to stay up until 3am, which is possibly quite a moderate time depending on what you enjoy doing of an evening...

As you can see, the Russians and the Argentinians enjoy partying until around 4am. We'd probably stay up past 4am too if it was our summer time... as for The Russians, they're just mad for it, even if it's several degrees below zero - that's what having Christmas cancelled during the Soviet era will do to a nation. Despite Christmas being "reinstated", over 90% of Russians stay up past 3:30am to celebrate New Years as it used to be their only chance to party.

Seemingly The Chinese stay up much later when celebrating their own New Years, while the Americans like to be tucked up in bed approximately two minutes post ball-drop (who knew the Canadians were the party animals). As for the Australians - they probably head to the pit early to avoid some of our, eh, more enthused Irish imports.

If you find yourself in a situation with a half-demented child insisting on ringing in the New Year with you later this evening, this may be of interest to you...

MERRY NEW YEAR, TO ONE AND ALL!
