Yup, even Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson needs a stunt double to achieve those magnificent, physical, on-screen feats.
And who better to sub-in than the people you can always rely on – family.
Born in Hawaii, Tanoai Reed is the great nephew of Johnson's grandmother, Lia Maivia. The cousins are part of the Anao'i family, a wrestling dynasty that goes back generations, though Reed himself doesn’t wrestle.
The likeness is really uncanny.
I'd like to wish the most realist, down to earth, humble, talented ( and almost as handsome as me), brother from another mother, my Uce Deuce Dwayne "DJ" @therock Johnson a very happy and blessed 45th birthday! I hope I look as good as you when I turn 45 in a year and a half😉. Thank you for being a great example not only to myself, but to all of the Polynesian youth, as well as every youth, woman and grown ass man from all over the world! ðŸ™?ðŸ?½May the good Lord bless you with many more happy years to keep inspiring and sharing your Mana with the world! 🎂ðŸ'ªðŸ?½ðŸ'“🤙ðŸ?½
Reed was a gladiator on American Gladiators and has been doubling for his cousin since pretty much the start of Johnson’s acting career, beginning with 2002’s The Scorpion King. Reed has remained his cousin's main stunt double since, doubling for him in Faster, The Other Guys, Pain & Gain, San Andreas, the Fast & Furious franchise, Baywatch and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, among others.
More guys like Dwayne Johnson in the world? We can’t complain – sure bring along the whole clan!
