They don't have a whole lot in common apart from facial hair and the fact that they're Irish, but it seems that UFC champ Conor McGregor has made a new pal in U2 guitarist The Edge.
The pair crossed paths at an airport in the States over the weekend, when McGregor was flying home to Dublin for Christmas - and he posted the below pic to Facebook with the caption: 'Flying home for Christmas and bump into @U2's 'The Edge' #ItsABeautifulDay'.
Since he's already had Sinead O'Connor sing him into the octagon, perhaps U2 could do the same if he ends up defending his title in Dublin next summer?
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that a civic reception will be held in Dublin next month to honour McGregor's achievements in MMA.
