Astronaut Tim Peake may just have snagged the 'Cool Dad of the Year' award at the death.

The 43 year old Dad of two will become the first British person to visit the International Space Station. He's the first person from Britain to even leave Earth in more than two decades.

He blasted off into space from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 11am but not before sharing this adorable moment with his two sons.

We can just imagine the lively debates his sons will have with their classmates in school this week.

"My Dad's cooler than your dad."

"My Dad's in space and he fist bumped us on live television moments before blastoff."

"....."
