The Irish public's appetite for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts is at an all time high at the moment in the wake of the hugely successful UFC event in Dublin last month. One of UFC president Dana White's most oft repeated maxims is that when MMA begins to make tracks in new markets, such as it has on our island, local gyms are inundated with people looking to learn more about the sport.
One such gym is Team Ryano, based in Finglas. Head coach Andy Ryan is one of pioneers of Irish MMA and has nurtured the sport from its infancy in Ireland to now, where it is knocking ever-louder on the door of the mainstream.
UFC fighter Neil Seery trains out of Team Ryano, as does top Lightweight prospect Paul Redmond who takes to that cage this Saturday evening in Dublin's The Helix at the Cage Warriors 70 event.
Team Ryano held an open day last Friday for anyone curious to learn more about the sport or the gym and you can see photos from the session below.
