So it turns out Phillip Schofield is a bit of a dark horse, and was slightly fond of being a grade-A mess back in his children's TV days.

In an interview with fashion magazine Hunger, Schofield revealed he was a wild child back when in the lates 80s and early 90s while presenting Saturday morning kid's TV show Going Live! on BBC, doing drugs and spending weekends hanging out with prostitutes.

'It wasn't a case of hiding it. I did the same as everybody else. I was a lad; we partied a bit, but I didn't hide anything. It's just that nobody bothered to look in the right place. You have to remember that doing kids' TV then, you were expected to be the son of Enid Blyton, and that was very difficult. Now you can be much more open, and have a proper life. But then, it was almost, 'Oh, you've got a girlfriend. What type of girl is she?' But my mates and I very quickly realised: don't go into central London and have a wild time.' So the lesson here is if you're going to get up to no good, do it where you won't get caught apparently.

Schofield would like to press that he 'never got much into drugs' because he 'wasn't very good at it'. Well you know God loves a tryer Phillip, so don't beat yourself up too much. But wait, there's more.

'We ended up drinking vodka, eating caviar with a couple of East German hookers. We got in the car and we drove through Checkpoint Charlie with these two East German hookers, no questions asked. God knows what the children's television would have thought!'. For reference, here's Schofield from back in the day on the BBC. No wonder he had such ease talking to puppets and imaginary characters, he was probably so high he thought all of them did.
