Ryan Reynolds is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, and as a leading man, his style is impeccable both on and off-screen.

He might spend lot of time in Los Angeles shooting blockbusters, which means that he never has to worry about buying Winter wear, but when he's not on set, Reynolds always looks his best whether he's in California or on the streets of New York, where they do experience seasons, and the transition between them is as tricky to pull off there as it is here.

As we move from Summer into Autumn, the weather becomes fairly changeable; wind, rain, hail and shine are all forecast, normally within the same hour, so putting together an outfit that is both stylish and practical can be a bit of a challenge. However, as usual, Reynolds pulls it off with the effortless ease that we've come to expect from the Just Friends star.

Here, he makes use of a favourite technique of the Man Cave: layering. Practical in that you can make a quick change when the temperatures rise or plummet, and stylish in that it ties together outfits with ease and compliments your body shape along the way. We sent editor Mike Sheridan to Arnotts in Dublin to get the Ryan Reynolds look, which will work perfectly for the oncoming Autumn months.

The main focus in a look like this will be the jacket, and it’s worth spending some time to make sure that you get something that both looks good and will do the job against the elements. This Strellson navy coat (€279) is a sleek design that is minimal, yet is most definitely a modern take on a classic look.

Pairing different shades of blue is something that works well for us Irish men, as we tend to have fair skin. Black can be a very stark contrast, in particular if you've also got fair hair, so matching the navy of the jacket with a similar navy in the cardigan (€85) while adding a lighter shade in the Lyle and Scott Oxford Shirt (€85) brings some colour to proceedings in an outfit that combines other muted tones throughout.

Hackett is a brand that we absolutely love here at the Man Cave, they take the classic heritage of British tailoring and give it a timeless feel that is unquestionably contemporary. Here, these fine cords (€165) are a slim fit that aren't overly skinny, meaning they can be worn for a number of different looks and for almost any occasion.

Finish the look off with a pair of Lacoste desert boots (€130) in a lighter shade of grey, and you've successfully pulled off the Ryan Reynolds look. Don’t blame us if you start to get mistaken for him in the street though, that’s just a handy perk.
