Autumn/Winter is here, but never fear, while that does mean the end of the warm weather, it doesn’t mean that we can’t still look our best.

If anything, the transition between Summer and Autumn has some of the best style options a man could wish for, and as the weather outside gets cooler, we should be aiming for the same thing ourselves.

Entertainment.ie editor Mike Sheridan headed to Arnotts Dublin to get a look at their menswear collection that houses some of the best brands around, and to put together a few outfits that perfectly capture the style of some of Hollywood’s leading men. First up: Eddie Redmayne.

Best known from his role in Les Miserables, Redmayne is no stranger to also gracing the cover of GQ thanks to his effortless style. Casual and still chic, he looks every bit the movie star in a classic leather jacket, and thankfully it’s a look that most of us can borrow from without too much trouble.

Here, our editor Mike pulls it off with ease as he sports a BOSS Orange Black Leather jacket (€599). It’s a simple piece, which is where its brilliance lies: if you over-complicate it then it doesn’t complicate your outfit so much as dominate it, and in our humble opinion that can also look a bit cheap, no matter how much you paid for it. You should always look to spread out your budget according to how often you’re going to wear something, so when it comes to a timeless leather jacket, it’s worth investing. However, if wearing Hugo Boss is beyond your budget, why not try a similar alternative from Mango (€229.99) which will do a similar job of pulling the outfit together.

The rest of the look combines a denim shirt with a white tee underneath, a contrast of colours that also adds to the layering effect of the outfit. No matter what your body shape or type, layering is something that every man should be looking to do, and the colder weather is a great help when it comes to that. You can pick up a Levi's Denim Shirt (€90) and a two-pack of BOSS white t-shirts (€55) that will show a splash of colour underneath the dark jacket.

Jeans are an essential for any man, and once again you should be thinking about cost per wear, as well as how versatile they are. Levi's are the kings of denim, and their 511 is a slim leg fit that tapers nicely at the end. If skinny jeans aren’t your thing, the slim is a perfect change from the baggier, broader fits of years past, while they aren’t so tight as to be out of place with the rest of your wardrobe.

The final step is to find the perfect footwear, and for the next few months you’re going to want a sturdy pair of leather boots for both rain and shine. Every man should have at least one item from Kurt Geiger to their name, and these brown leather boots (€165) are perfect for matching with any shade for the cold weather.
