Since his move to Newstalk, prolific Irish broadcaster Pat Kenny (some love him, others loathe him) has now taken stock of his time at former employer RTÉ. Does he have any regrets? Well he certainly misses his pals but in a recent interview with the Herald, he's admitted to never having given a  about the 'prestige' associated with the national broadcaster.

"I don't regret the move, I'm not sad about it. It's turned out to be fun. The private sector was always something I wondered about, and I have to say I'm utterly pleased with what I've found" said the man who it pained us to watch squirm as he hosted the annual Late Late Toy Show (though hardly Willy Wonka, the general consensus on the last Toy Show suggested Ryan Tubridy did as good a job as any).

He continued: "I would never give a toss about the prestige of being on RTE... I didn't work for them, they had a halo around their neck as the national broadcaster. My work was deemed good enough for RTE and now Newstalk, who made me an offer which at the stage I am at in my career looked like a good adventure. I'm glad I went on it."

Here's David McSavage's take on Pat Kenny which is endlessly entertaining.
