One man’s joy is another man’s sorrow. This was the case for our very own Simon Zebo over the weekend. He’d barely stepped off the field in Houston after helping Ireland to a narrow 15-12 win over the USA early on Sunday morning, when he received a call from the Lions management to get on a plane and get to Australia, rapid!

Zebo flies out to replace the unlucky Tommy Bowe, the Ulster winger, who broke a bone in his hand during the Lions’ win over the Queensland Reds on Saturday morning. Bowe who has looked in scintillating form so far and had more or less nailed down his starting test place, underwent immediate surgery to the injury and may recover in time to play some part later in the tour.

Until then we’d like to wish Simon all the very best and hope that he produces some of his patented Zebo magic we all know he’s capable of.

Lions, Lions, Lions!
