When it comes to food I think we can all agree that cake is about the best thing out there right? That's why we eat birthday cake once a year. We can also probably agree that cheese is the second best food out there. So when you combine the two and open a shop on uber trendy South William street you have a mouth orgasm waiting to happen. I nearly shit myself with excitement when I saw an advert on Facebook for this new shop and rocked up after a pub lunch with my mouth drooling along the floor like a dog.

The first sight that greeted me was the cracked glass. I looked at it for a good 5 minutes and looked at the picture above and still can't figure it out. Had they tried to cover a cracked window with a sticker? Is it some sort of hipster design trend I don't know about yet? Anyway who cares I wasn't here to look at glass.

I was expecting to walk in to some sort of Cheesecake Factory American style franchise but it was thread bare and clearly launched on a budget which is no bad thing. You can get your cheesecake served either in a jar or in a more traditional slice.

There are a f*ck load of quirky toppings but I went with the plain old vanilla baked cheesecake because if you can't get that right then you simply haven't got a hope.

I walked outside with a piping hot coffee and my slice and sat down with my mate to do a bit of people watching. Everything was perfect, my favorite food, favorite street and favorite drink. It's like one of those moments where you achieve something cool in life but look around waiting for it all to collapse in slow motion. But it doesn’t. My mouth was duly aroused as I devoured every creamy morsel of perfection.

I can’t imagine just how good it would be with the toppings because the plain one was incredible on it’s own. Sitting here eating this and looking at the start up nature of the business you just know that you are seeing the start of something much bigger. Something new and refreshing in a world where everybody has been making cupcakes for the last 5 years.

You’ll see them splash out more on the decor as they make money. Open more shops. Start a movement and become a fixture on this popular street. Who doesn’t need more cheesecake in their mouths every single day!

The only people who I’ve met who like cheesecake more than me are women! The fact that the shop is surrounded by boutiques, hairdressers, beauty salons and shops bodes well for this little business. I love seeing Irish people trying new and innovative things and doing well. Expect queues out the door in this place soon. Epic.
