All the beautiful people gathered at The Village on Wexford Street last night for the first EVER live staging of The erics - entertainment.ie's annual entertainment awards.

As the clock ticked towards 8, MC Sean Munsanje, who was looking slick in Louis Copeland we must say, took to the stage to get things under way, introducing the first Irish music act of the night, Bouts. The Dublin 4-piece started the show with a smashing set.

Then it was time to get down to business and give out some big shiny erics... First up were Red Carpet Win and Red Carpet #Fail. Off The Rails fashionistas Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon revealed that Beyonce's Met Gala number was a win, while Rosemary McCabe delivered some bad news to Nicki Minaj; Her, err, questionable Grammys ensemble was a bit of a #FAIL.

Next up were Ireland's most eligible - Bachelor and Bachelorette of the Year. Spin 103.8's Riyadh Khalaf scooped the honour for the lads (in absentia, the poor fella was still five mins away so his mate picked up the award) while Wexford songstress Wallis Bird was voted the country's favourite female. Her speech was an absolute cracker - we'll say no more. Westlife's big finale at Croke Park topped the poll as your favourite Live Event and The Voice of Ireland's Stephen Byrne told us he'd make sure Kian Egan got the award. Better see it when that chair spins Egan, y'hear?

Definitely one of the most popular presenters of the night, Anne Grimes aka AH HEYOR, LEAVE EH OUH woman, gave us a rousing rendition of her iconic catchphrase as #susanalbumparty walked home with the award for the Best WTF? Moment. With 6 awards handed out it was time for a break and some more great Irish music, this time from singer-songwriter Leanne Harte.

Getting back to business, @IrishMammies was voted into the ranks of Ireland's Top Twitterati and Colm O'Regan sent us a great big thank you on her behalf. The world's favourite and most fashionable weather woman Jean Byrne was looking lovely in leather as she picked up the prize for Ireland's Top TV Personality from MasterChef Ireland's Nick Munier while Mike Sheridan and Brian Maher (who were both looking rather sharp!) pipped Katie Taylor to the post for Ledgebag of the Year. The lads ran over 126 miles to raise money for Special Olympics Ireland and were handed their award by none other than Irish music legend Paul Brady. Take us to that island sharpish Paul,  we're in need of a good sleep!

The Riptide Movement were rather popular Album of the Year winners while Spin 103.8's Brian Maher and Dara Quilty were voted Ireland's Raunchiest Radio Voices. Daniella Moyles was on hand to present their award and she was lookin rather raunchy herself (see page 5 of The Star or check out the link below). Eric Lalor was voted the country's favourite comedian before Heathers brought the house down. Everybody loved them, yes, everybody.

The Boys of Foley Street had plenty to celebrate as they were voted Ireland's Best Theatrical Production while Wallis Bird returned to the stage to talk Irish music and hand Heathers the award for Best Irish Music Act. And there was plenty of love in the room for Peter Coonan as he collected Love/Hate's eric for Best Irish TV Show from Game of Thrones actor Jack Gleeson and rising star Aaron Heffernan. Lenny Abrahamson's What Richard Did scooped the final award of the night: Lenny sent a message from New Mexico (where he's filming with Michael Fassbender don'cha know) and some of the lovely lads from the film (including Patrick Gibson and Sam Keeley, aka yer man Philip off RAW) were on hand to pick up the eric for Movie of the Year.

With all awards handed out, it was time for another few choons so Delorentos took the party into the night with a set that blew the roof off. Not literally, obvs. That'd just be awkward. And if you missed it, don't worry, we're pretty sure we'll be back with an even bigger show next year...

See all our red carpet photos (*ahems* particularly of the lovely Daniella Moyles) here.
