Ronnie Wood hasn't been able to pin down Niall Horan to give him guitar lessons. True story.

The Rolling Stoner, who offered to personally teach the One Directioner some of his skillz for his birthday in September, has admitted they haven't been able to spend any time together due to their busy schedules.

The 66-year-old rocker exclusively told BANG Showbiz at The Sun's 2013 Military Awards in London last night: "I know, he's worse than I am... He's always out on the road."

A source previously revealed that 20-year-old Niall was "made up" after Ronnie promised to help him improve his fingering technique, so he'll be thrilled to learn the offer still stands despite the loose arrangement surrounding the lesson. Ronnie said he has no plans to renege on his offer and will meet up with Niall as soon as they're both free, saying: "Oh yeah, I'll definitely do it."

Finally, he had some sage advice for One Direction as a whole: "Just don't argue amongst yourselves, try and stay together!" So, with any bit of luck, we could be watching One Direction juddering around a stage in forty years time.

Ronnie was one of several celebrity guests at The Millies, which recognise the excellence and sacrifice made by Britain's Armed Forces, hosted by Phillip Schofield at the National Maritime Museum.

Other guests at the event included Tom Hardy, Katie Piper, Joe Essex, Kian Egan, Gordon Ramsay, Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Carr and Holly Willoughby.

You can see all of them sashay up the red carpet next Monday when The Sun Military Awards air on ITV at 9pm.
