Well, that's a difficult one to try and explain...

Cam Thomas, a lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has found himself in a bit of legal trouble after his ex-girlfriend filed a lawsuit against him, claiming that he gave her herpes.

Her reasoning behind making the suit is that she was tested in December 2010, a few months after they started going out, and she was clean, but in 2012 tested positive for herpes, and in her opinion Thomas is the only culprit.

The case that Adrienne (his now ex-girlfriend) is filing states that in March of 2010, she noticed "puss-filled bumps on his buttocks and inner thigh" which he claimed were from his football gear being too sweaty and "bruises and sores" on his penis. His explanation for that last one? He got it caught in the zipper of his trousers.

For his part, Cam Thomas' legal team told TMZ that he was definitely not responsible and that the accusations were baseless. He's going to get himself tested to prove it too, and he also totally refutes the claims of physical abuse against her, an issue that has been making headlines in the NFL in the last week after star player Ray Rice was served with a short suspension over charges that he hit his wife.

Adam Kenner, Thomas' lawyer, said that those claims were due to her being bitter over their relationship ending, and that he "is like a gentle giant. He would never lay a hand on her."
