It took a wee while to compile, but (finally) here's a gallery of last night's MTV VMA red carpet arrivals. Those worth commenting upon include:
Katy Perry and Kristin 'The Hills'/I've not high-fived John Mayer's Penis' Cavallari came as Siamese twins. Judging by this photo, it was Katy's idea. Later, Kristin made a break for it, leaving a gaping void.
Lady GaGa left everyone GOBSMACKED by covering up, as did Madonna. It was only a matter of time before the former whittled her ensemble down to something George Jetson would like his lapdancers cavorting in. Shakira kept with this theme. As did Pink...
Perez Hiltonthought he'd cap off his 'La Roux/Donald Duck Does Florida with the aid of potpourri scented Cillit Bang' get up, by dipping his hands into yellow paint? That or he caught something off the nether regions of a recent conquest... HA! Who are we kidding, who'd have sex with this?! Funny that.
It's just this one thing that's got me trippin about Amerie's otherwise lovely dress (can you spot it?), while in related happenings, a sweaty Sean Paul declared himself a loser.
Amber Roseopted to wriggle her hoop into the discarded skin of a rattler, if further proof were needed of her attraction to reptiles. Kanye, meanwhile, subtly set about quaffing his Dutch courage juice before his inevitable stage invasion.
I Carly star, young Miranda Cosgrove, reminded us of how Amanda Bynes used to look, before the Nickelodeon work dried up/the generic tanning addiction fully took hold.
Joe Jacksonlooked every inch the skeeze, sidling up to startled yet hospitable curvy individuals; Nelly Furtado showcased what appears to be a new mouth (hellew Ms. Dickinson); and Jack Black kept a low profile.
The list of winners can be seen here. Or, if you'd prefer to find out the winners while watching Lady GaGa covered in blood; Madonna and Janet Jackson opening proceedings with a version of Scream; Pink just about filling a heart-shaped nipple tassle; Russell Brandbeing awwwlll COCKANNAY ENGALISH MAN OI, OI, OI and what not; and to see the closing event - the exclusive trailer to Michael Jackson's This Is It film (which, as it happens, you can see here first), tune into MTV tonight from 8.00pm (that's when the pre-show starts. Coverage of the actual ceremony starts at 9.00pm and lasts two whole hours).
