And what a statement it is... we'll never think of toots / bottom burps / Dutch ovens the same way again.

But first, to the alleged 'fart' action, the unfortunate sound which just so happened to coincide with a side-eye avec sharp intake of breath from Karlie Kloss, a nose hold via Hailee Steinfeld, and a sudden loss in cabin pressure in Taylor Swift's joints, otherwise known as an 'oh-holy-crap knee buckle'. That or she heard the sound too and wanted people to think she had creaky knees - as opposed to a digestive system.

Anyway, here's the vine...

And now to the statement from the aforementioned MTV rep, which somehow manages to outdo the vine...

"MTV can confirm that the sound heard in the moment Taylor Swift introduced her new music video, Wildest Dreams, was isolated to a production microphone. There was absolutely no possibility of it being Taylor or anyone in her party’s microphones picking up ambient sounds."

"Ambient sounds"... Might be worth an album title. Can't top that ourselves at this hour of the evening, so we'll leave it there.
