So, good news then Ted.

Batten down the hatches and get ready for some adverse weather conditions, as Met Éireann are predicting some heavy rain is headed towards us this evening and have raised their weather alert level to orange.

While there has already been a bit of rain today, they predict that will clear and there will be brighter weather in the afternoon. However, that's where the good news ends, as when the evening begins to creep in, heavy downpours of rain will develop in the west, eventually spreading across the country, bringing a risk of flooding.

They're not finished there, of course, as there will also be "strong and gusty with gales in some coastal areas" to accompany all that rain we're looking forward to. That weather will continue in to Thursday morning with heavy rain in all areas, while the east and the north will have to put up with that all day and possibly even overnight, with the outlook remaining pretty grim all the way through to Friday morning at the earliest.

Still, the aul winter is great, isn't it?
