It's okay, everyone, you can all relax: Melania Trump is safe and well. Well, at least safe.
The First Lady had sparked concern (not to mention some fairly outlandish conspiracy theories) after being out of the public eye for over three weeks - but yesterday, she returned to the spotlight for the first time in 24 days
The official line was that she underwent a 'medical procedure' for a benign issue with her kidneys last month, but the feverish speculation that she had left her husband (or had been assassinated and was in the process of being replaced by a lookalike, etc. etc.) began just days after she failed to reappear.
Yesterday, she took part in a Gold Star event at the White House, and even Trump joked about the rumours of her leaving him at one point.

"Did she leave him?" @realDonaldTrump jokes about the rumors surrounding @FLOTUS's lengthy absence from public view. A sort of awkward bit of humor in a room full of military families who have lost loved ones.
