And so it continues... but this time in Mel Gibson's favour. Ever since Oskana recorded Mel huffing, puffing, shouting, cursing, brandishing threats, spewing racist words, comparing her to a pig in heat (to mention just a few obscene statements he made) it looked as if the nail was certainly in his career coffin. Even his Lethal Weapon co-star Danny Glover refused to comment on the events yesterday; but it seems there is someone in Hollywood that still has a lot of respect for the Mad Max star.
Gibson's soon-to-be ex- wife, Robyn, has put pen to paper and written a sworn declaration on behalf of Mel. According to TMZ, it reads "Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage.... (and) there was never any domestic violence perpetrated by Mel against any of their children." Robyn is a well respected and credible individual in Hollywood, so this now gives the actors defence team a substantial advantage.
Oh how tables turn so quickly; here's looking at you Oskana, BOOM!. As we said yesterday, Mel's lawyers are trying to have the mother of his latest child held for contempt of court after accusing her of violating a restraining order, by leaking secret audio tapes. Now, they will use this statement along with the latest evidence that Oskana actually tried to blackmail approximately $10 million, in exchange for keeping the secret recordings, secret. There are emails and other 'physical evidence' to prove this.
If true, Oskana will look like a vindictive, money grabbing wannabe and could be in deep dodo but, the fact still remains, Mel Gibson has some serious anger management issues which need to be addressed.
