Soon queuing could be a thing of the past, as McDonald's are set to trial table service for the first time in the UK.

The trial will occur in the Mottham branch of the chain in Manchester, before then increasing the trial by adding another 10 restaurants to the test by the end of the month.

If all goes well the service could be rolled out across the country, which we assume would mean we'll get it in Ireland relatively soon after. We can wait 10 years, right?

The new system would see customers order their food via a digital kiosk, then simply wait for a member of staff to bring it to your table. This service has already been introduced to some of the chain's restaurants around Europe, so it looks like this may actually become a widespread thing.

Waiters bring your food to the customer's table? What kind of new age nonsense is this, it'll never catch on.
