A man in France has died after he downed a whopping 56 shots of alcohol - 30 of them in under a minute.
The 50-year old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was taking part in a drinking competition at a bar where a previous patron had set a record of 55 shots.
The bar's manager claims that they attempted to stop him after the first 30, however the man's daughter says that they did not stop him until he had completed the challenge.
The man was brought to hospital later that night, fell into a coma and died the next day.
Police are now investigating the matter and charges could potentially be brought against the bar.
