Louise McSharry is set to replace Dave Fanning’s daily slot on RTE 2fm. The veteran DJ will now take a morning slot on the weekend, with The Louise McSharry Show airing 8pm-10pm five days a week in its place.

McSharry, writer for The Daily Edge, will be playing a mix of tunes while talking entertainment news, pop culture and more. Fanning’s new weekend show will deal with film, music and general news between 10am-12pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Speaking on The Daily Edge, McSharry said "I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the weekday schedule and I am really excited about getting the chance to talk about the things that have Irish people buzzing", as her co-workers wished her luck.

This is yet another big move in the current shake up and revamp going on at the RTE radio station, after, among other high profile changes, it was confirmed that Republic Of Telly stars Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O' Shea are to replace Hector on the Breakfast show on 2fm.
