Yep, this is the type of "news" that's fed to the media of a Monday morning. Anything to obliterate the "Mischa B is a Bully, Shocker" headlines. Cher Lloyd was a bully too and yet she's still being forced into our faces.
So here goes: "Simon Cowell is reportedly giving serious thought to giving Louis Walsh the boot from next year’s X-Factor." Ooohhhhh, next year's X Factor... So there's going to be another show next year? Fabuloid.
The speculation comes after the omnipresent Walsh had to issue an apology live on air to 19-year-old contestant Misha Bryan for calling her a bully (see, there's no escaping that storyline). And according to The Sun, with viewing figures falling, Cowell has been looking at ways to revive the show, while TV execs are said to be frantically trying to convince Cowell to leave the US X-Factor and come back to the UK.
"It doesn't take a genius to work out that Simon not being on has hit the ratings. ITV are happy with the panel (comprising of Tulisa or, as the predictive text keeps typing her 'Typist' or 'Tipoff', Gary Beardo, and the increasingly transparent Kelly Rowland). They think they're great. But they realise when it comes to X-Factor judges, there isn't anyone like Simon. He IS X-Factor. Simon has a lot on his plate in America with the US X-Factor but he has not ruled out a return. The likelihood is that Louis will be gone next year - and Simon could make a welcome return."
Meanwhile ITV defended the fact that 2.5 million viewers have stopped watching the program this year. "The show remains the most popular entertainment program and this is the second most popular series in its eight-year history," it said.
Most popular entertainment programme? No so says the X Factor page. Apparently Strictly Come Dancing is knocking the socks off it ratings wise.
Personally, I'm finding it fierce difficult to watch this year, mainly because I record it and end up watching it at 1am surrounded by chip packets and half discarded burger buns. Not just that, though, it's the likes of Sami getting ousted in favour of Mr. HaircutMcFallopiantrousersand Ms. UnderarseO'Wallforehead.
In other news, who ever is doing this to Tipoff's face, please stop, you're making her look like Desperate Dan in drag. I've seen her coaching the bands offstage and her make up is never that caked on. Sortitaaaahht.
