One of the summer's most talked about transfer sagas looks to have come to an end as Liverpool agree a fee with Barcelona for Luis Suarez.

Luis Suarez has already had an eventful summer, but now there looks to be even more happening for him as he is set for a move to Barcelona. A fee, believed to be around £75 million (which apparently was the buyout clause in his contract) has been agreed between the two clubs.

Manager Brendan Rodgers released a statement to the Liverpool FC website that highlighted that keeping the star at the club has been pretty difficult after he has continually turned in top -class performances: "The club have done all they can over a sustained period of time to try to keep Luis at Liverpool. It is with great reluctance and following lengthy discussions we have eventually agreed to his wishes to move to Spain for new experiences and challenges".

However, he added that the "history of this great club teaches us [...] that Liverpool FC is bigger than any individual" and they have already been working to improve their squad. Barcelona fans can expect to see him when he travels to the club for a medical next week, but it will be several months before he debuts for the blaugrana, as FIFA upheld their original ruling that he should face a four-month ban from football yesterday afternoon, despite a formal appeal from Suarez and his legal team.
