"This may be the first time Lindsay Lohan had trouble doing lines."

Just one of the many tweets sent regarding her Saturday Night Live stint over the weekend.

The faceless behemoth that is social media are giving her jip for "obviously read all her lines off cue cards", but she still managed to read them, right? The only appearances she's made of late involve traipsing in and out of courthouses, so the fact she managed to read on live TV without cocking up or stealing anything is a step in the right direction.

Those in the know said: "She got slammed on Twitter and Facebook and all over social media, but the people who actually can give her jobs - at least the ones I talked to - said she did a fine job and had several truly funny moments."

Of her *gasps* reading off cue cards, another informed sort (who's allegedly a "top Hollywood casting director") wasn't so impressed: "All the SNL kids do that, of course, but Lindsay was really kind of bad at that. I know they change scenes and lines right up to when the show goes live in New York, but that seeming lack of focus is something that directors and producers would be worried about. It really seemed very evident when she did that house-sitting skit with Kristen Wiig going crazy over imagined crank calls."

I can't say I noticed, what with her given hardly any lines (ropey video below).

As ever, the Ma/nager Dina is blaming someone else for the cue card issue: "reportedly saying they didn't position those cards for LiLo 'as well as they do for the regulars on the show'."

Or maybe she was just trying to communicate with her eyes 'cause her lips can't move anymore. Or perhaps she just wasn't that great an actress to begin with. She is rather good at carrying seriously covetable handbags, however. She could always maintain her career doing that. A bit more.
