Not a great day for Lily Allen. We thought she'd endured enough Twitter spats for one life time - remember her and Cheryl? - but now she's been subjected to another stream of abuse after she reported a soldier for racism yesterday via the socal media outlet.
The Smile singer who we learned just days ago was once again up the Damien Duff - welcome news considering she's already been through two devastating miscarriages - reported 20 year old soldier Harry Wilson to the Ministry of Defence following his racially abusive tweet. Commenting on the rumours that Allen may have been considering adption, Wilson said to Allen: "just seen you bought sh*t I mean adopted a child from Africa (sic)'
Allen then brought this to the Ministry's attention by saying: "Do you condone (these) racist comments? He needs disciplining."
An investigation is now under way. As per The Metro, an army spokesman has since come out to say: "Racism of any kind is completely unacceptable and the Army has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of harassment and discrimination... We are aware of the alleged offensive comments and are investigating the matter. It would be inappropriate to comment further while this is ongoing."
What's more, since receiving this tweet, other people have joined in branding her a 'coke head' and other such things. One woman - 23 year old Suzanne Fraser who tweets under the name @suzanne_x - said: 'you are a disgrace, you kept you job when you were full of drugs & cocaine with kate moss ya stuck up wee cow!! KARMA!! (sic)', while Steve Allison (who ARE these people?) said: 'Harry been told the top dogs in the army want him discharged! @lilyrosecooper a hope ur f***in happy ya coke head bastard? #harrysnotaracist? (sic)'
It appears Lily wasn't too phased by the whole thing, we guess she's used to it by now. She tweeted: 'Just a few examples of the drivel I'm being subjected to for reporting that guy yesterday. (sic)'
