Matt Damon may be playing him in Behind the Candleabra, but Liberace's real-life lover Scott Thorson now claims that he had a "six or seven" year romance with Michael Jackson.

The 54-year-old told The Sun that Liberace introduced him to the music legend, and claimed that the pair grew rather close. "Liberace introduced me and Michael in the late 1970s. It was right around the time 'Thriller' was coming out and Michael and I became lovers. Our relationship went on for six or seven years. Michael was very generous too. He treated me well" he said.

Thorson alleged that himself, Michael and Liberace had spent an lot of time together, and even turned to each other for support while recovering from plastic surgery. "Liberace and I had both undergone plastic surgery around the same time Michael underwent a nose job because he didn't think he was handsome", Thorson said. "We all healed together at the Liberace compound in Palm Springs."

We find the whole thing pretty suspicious, especially considering the fact that Thorson's quite recently spent a bit of time on the inside for burglary charges. Add to that the fact that he tried to get the actors to bail him out in exchange for his willingness to talk about Behind The Candelabra (which just so happens to be based on his memoir) and you've got one rather, err, interesting tale.

Seems as though there was a lot more going on behind that candelabra than we first thought...
