If they were trying to keep it hush, maybe they should have paid off the locals in Italy to keep schtum, because a spokesperson from the mayor's office in Florence just spilled the beans on the date and location of Kimye's wedding.

According to AP, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will get married at Florence's imposing 16th century Belvedere Fort on May 24, after spending €300,000 to rent the property according to spokeswoman Elisa Di Lupo. A protestant minister will also officiate the ceremony, she said.

The couple had reportedly been planning a wedding ceremony May 24 in France, but that appears to have been a decoy as this confirmation from Florence seems to be pretty legit. Di Lupo said the proceeds from the rental would go to fund restoration of many of Florence's artistic treasures, or so say AP.

This is the first wedding for Kanye and the third for Kim, who was previously married Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2003 and then famously to Kris Humphries for all of 72 days in 2011, for which she bagged megabucks from E!.

Kardashian's rep Ina Treciokas said she 'wasn't able to comment on reports about the nuptials' but an interview from today's Florence newspaper La Nazione featured West talking about the beauty of Florence and how he was 'very excited' about the upcoming nuptials and wanted to return to the city North was conceived in last year to be 'among the Renaissance masterpieces.'

Well that does sound like Kanye...
