Comedian and actor Kevin Hart made headlines in September following a car crash that left him badly injured. Now Hart has spoken out for the first time on the impact this has had on him.
Hart, who was a passenger in the car, was hospitalised along with two others after his vintage car smashed through a wooden fence and fell 10 feet into a gully off Mulholland Highway in California.
40-year-old Hart suffered three spinal fractures that required surgery and the star is still going through the rehabilitation process, which could take up to a year. In a video he posted to his Instagram, Hart says, "Basically what you realize is that you’re not in control. No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control. At the end of the day, it can all be over, man."
The video shows footage from the accident along with clips of Hart's rehabilitation. Hart goes on to say that he believes the accident was God's way of telling him to slow down and now his "appreciation for life is through the roof".
