Oh, Kelly, it's just one of the things they don't tell you. It's one of the minor things in comparison to your "milk coming in." No one prepared me for that.

The Since You've Been Gone crooner is suffering from some terrible first trimester ailments, and while she is ecstatic to be expecting a child with her husband Brandon Blackstock, she hasn't had the easiest start to motherhood.

Speaking during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday, she said: "I vomit a good dozen times a day. It's, like, bad. I vomited before coming out here and I had a peppermint so you didn't [know] ... I'm not even kidding, it's so bad. It's so bad. I know it's, like, so gross!'

Kelly - who is 11 weeks into her pregnancy - also admitted she has been feeling unattractive and is yet to see the alleged beauty benefits mothers are supposed to gain when carrying a child. She explained: "Everybody tells you [that] you glow and your hair is pretty and your nails are pretty. That's total crap! My nails are short, my hair still falls out - it's not all lush and beautiful - and I have no glow. Unless it's, like, something left over from a bad throw up. It's horrible."

It's OK, Kelly, you should be flying once you hit 16 weeks. Only another month of vomming to go; unless you're one of those unfortunates who spew for the entire nine months.

The 31-year-old singer claims the upside of pregnancy is ditching alcohol as she is unable to handle boozy nights out: "It's weird. I'm not a big drinker, but if I am drinking, it's like I'm trying to win some award. It's really bad. It's like, 'I'm gonna get the drunkest! Who's holding my hair?' It's really bad. I'm not a good drinker."
