Keira Knightley handled her pregnancy in the best possible way in terms of her celebrity status and the attention it would get. So it's no surprise that she's taken her sweet time in revealing the name of her daughter with James Righton, doing so on her terms as she gave her first interview post-pregnancy to ELLE magazine.

It's Edie, by the way, which we think is a very good choice and very Keira Knightley.

Talking about her first experiences of motherhood to the magazine, Knightley said that she is shocked by many things that she's found herself capable of. "The love thing is astonishing. It’s a very primal, primal love," she told the magazine. "That’s quite extraordinary. And the ability to have no sleep and continue going. It’s not pleasant - I never thought that I could actually do it for the amount of time that I’ve done it."

She also mentioned how going through pregnancy was an eye-opening experience in terms of body perception and the pressures society puts on women to have their bodies look a certain way.

"Also, I have to say, as a woman, you hate certain parts of your body. You go through those periods where you look in the mirror and you think, Oh, if only I had different legs or arms or whatever. You go through pregnancy and labor and then feeding the kid and you go, Wow, my body is totally amazing, and I’m never going to not like it again, because it did this, and this is f*cking extraordinary."

We think motherhood suits her just fine.
