Morning all. I'm back in the saddle(ish) after a delightful bout of belly bumbles - isn't January just the best? On top of the dark days, post Christmas lull and resulting credit card debt, it goes and throws the winter vomming bug into the mix. Still, at least I'm not Russell Brand. A: I know I look questionable in skinny jeans and therefore liberally avoid, and B: I'm not an Awards Season pariah. Largely because no one knows who I am, and I've not done anything of note, but that's besides the point... In short, Russell was part of a "golden couple" and now he's been left out in the cold.

Here's the part with some actual information: The People's Choice Awards (here's last year's gallery), which are due to take place tomorrow, uninvited Russell after he split from Katy Perry on December 30th. The "source" in this instance said: "It will be Katy’s big night, a prelude to the Grammys, and now Russell has been strangely left off the list of attendees for the high-profile event. It was always going to be awkward for organisers in any case after their shock decision to split. But in order to avoid any awkwardness or confrontation Russ is no longer on the list.”

Despite it being such a big night for Katy, what with her being nominated for seven awards, she's now intends to blank the show: "Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed!"

Katy Perry has needlessly denied her ex an platform on which to posture. That's got to hurt. Her being unable to attend could be completely unrelated to their recent split, but for the purpose of this story we'll choose to ignore that fact.

Speaking of Russell, he's reportedly been getting over the split by going to watch his favourite soccer team West Ham United. A source told The Sun: "Russell is looking forward to catching up with old friends and watching West Ham. He used to be a regular face at home games and also put in the miles attending away matches. He can't wait to get stuck in again." However, being at the ground could bring back bittersweet memories for Russell as he could be reminded of the time Katy made 12 costume changes at the MTV European Music Awards in 2009, including wearing a bespoke burlesque West Ham lingerie set of basque and knickers, with the team's badge on each breast and his nickname 'Rusty' written across her butt.
