Um. Bit random.

The 36-year-old star has confessed she was shocked to find the Paralympian had direct messaged her on Twitter while being tried for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp after she spoke out about the controversial case earlier this year.

Katie said previously that she would not "judge" Oscar - who was cleared of murder but found guilty of culpable homicide and jailed for five years (but really he'll get about a year in prison and will then be dispatched to his uncle's swanky house) - based on media reports of the night Reeva was shot dead, and a month later he followed her on Twitter.

She told the Daily Mirror: "He was direct messaging me during the case. It's weird, isn't it? He was saying, 'Thanks for the support', and stuff. Just general chit-chat. He was the first one to message me. Because I mentioned him in my column, he was referencing that. I wasn't exactly supporting him, but everyone who goes through a trial will be the only one who knows what really happened. You're innocent until you're proven guilty."

The brunette admits it was her brother Dan that first noticed Oscar, 27, had been sending her messages, and at first she didn't believe him.

She explained: "He said, 'Oh my god, Kate - have a look at who's direct messaged you on Twitter'. I said, 'It's got to be fake'. He said, 'No, it's from his verified account'."

And now Katie has revealed she would love to meet her unlikely acquaintance... just for work purposes, you understand: "I would interview him, I would love to."

For what it's worth, you'd nearly be able to get your head around Oscar Pistorious contacting Katie Price, but what's more befuddling is the fact that he'd be reading her column in the first place... That and she considers herself qualified to "interview" people now... Then again, I still can't get the ceann around the matter of her being a published author who's regularly made the best sellers' list.
