Katie Holmes' security team are worried Scientologists are spying on her.

Photographers on the set of the actresses' latest film 'Miss Meadows' in Ohio were approached by a guard on Monday, who probed then on whether they were part of the Church of Scientology. According to the MailOnline the guard allegedly said Katie's security team had been told to 'keep our eyes open for anything suspicious and to report it.' Once the brunette beauty's six-strong security team was sure the photographers were not Scientologists they appeared relaxed and let the star to walk from the base camp to the movie set.

A photographer explained: 'When security knew we were only trying to take pictures it definitely seemed to make a difference to how she and seven-year-old Suri (Katie's daughter) are moving around. Katie was previously being ushered straight into a vehicle and we hardly saw her, but now she seems less anxious.'

Katie's spokeswomen has since denied her team have been on the lookout for Scientologists.

Katie was enlisted to the ranks of Scientology after marrying Tom Cruise - who she has seven-year-old daughter Suri, with - but it is believed religious tensions led to their divorce in 2012. The Church of Scientology was founded by American science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard who claimed that extra terrestrial beings were sent to planet Earth by intergalactic ruler Xenu, who blew up the aliens with hydrogen bombs. These aliens' souls then attached themselves to humans and caused problems that affect the happiness of individuals.
