You might recall how a few months ago, Kathy Griffin posed for a photoshoot that showed her holding the severed head of Donald Trump.

The controversial photo quickly gained a lot of traction online, and was condemned by both the right and left in US politics. Griffin then apologised for the photo, admitting she took it too far. Not long after that, a federal investigation was launched into the photo-shoot with Kathy Griffin and photographer Tyler Shields both the subject of a federal investigation.

Never mind the fact that Donald Trump, while campaigning, joked about being able to murder someone in broad daylight on a busy street and his followers would still support him, or how one of Trump's most vocal supporters, Ted Nugent, regularly called Hillary Clinton "a worthless bitch" and threatened to murder Barack Obama, or indeed the whole birther bullshit story that Trump propagated relentlessly.

Anyway, today, Kathy Griffin reposted AP's regular fake news-debunking column which clarified that the federal investigation into Kathy Griffin has since been closed and the comedian cleared of wrongdoing - and not, as some alt-right websites claimed, closed with Griffin in jail.
