Kanye West has been hospitalized in Los Angeles after emergency services responded to a "medical welfare call", media in the city are reporting.

Multiple sources say that West was taken to UCLA Medical Center Monday to be treated for exhaustion after the fire and police department received a call from the home of celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, who operates out of his home and that clients visit, around 1.20pm local time.

According to an NBC News source, "No criminal activity was involved; the decision to hospitalize West at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center was for his own health and safety."

Meanwhile, an LAFD spokesman said: "An adult male, described as medically stable, was taken to an area hospital for further assessment."

Earlier yesterday Live Nation confirmed that the rest of West's 'Saint Pablo Tour' shows had been called off, giving no reason for the cancellation.

Neither West nor his representatives have yet to make an official statement about the incident.

CNN report that West's wife, Kim Kardashian West, was in New York set to make her first public appearance since being robbed in Paris at gunpoint, but flew back to Los Angeles when she learned of West's situation.

All this comes after a few weeks of increasingly bizarre behaviour from West, including admitting he would have voted for Trump (if he had voted) and that he was a "genius", calling out Jay Z, Beyoncé, Mark Zuckerberg and others during his shows, and cutting short shows and then cancelling them all together.

Whatever is going on, we hope he gets the help he needs.
