The singer caused controversy/much hilarity at Sunday's Grammy Awards when he stepped onto the stage as Beck accepted the Album of the Year prize to signify he felt the accolade should have gone to Beyonce - like he did with a very young Taylor Swift back in the day - but the rapper has now insisted there was nothing personal in his gesture, or his subsequent rant about how the ceremony had "disrespected" artists.
Now he's come across with the following to TMZ: "No, I wasn't saying Beck [isn't an artist]. I said the Grammys. Beck knows that Beyonce should have won, you know that. Come on, I love Beck. But he can't have album of the year." Kanye? Beyonce does not need you to fight her battles. Mmmmkay?
Despite Kanye's actions, Beck has been a lot more gracious, even pandering to Kanye's 'genius' gene...
He said: "I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody. How many great records has he put out in the last five years right? I still love him and think he's genius. I aspire to do what he does."
Yep. Beck said that. What's more, he agrees with Kanye. Asked whether Beyonce should have won best album, he said: 'Absolutely. I thought she was going to win. Come on, she's Beyonce!"
Kanye - who turned and walked off stage without interrupting Beck - said afterwards, while Kim looked on in mild abject horror : "I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists, to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyonce... You all know when it meant when 'Ye walked on that stage."
It means 'Ye is just a big of a twat as Kan.
