The 44-year-old actress has shown her support to her on-screen daughter as she revealed that Sarah, 23, is "doing great" since her dramatic break-up with Matt Prokop.

Sarah split from her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend in September 2014 amid accusations that he had been abusive towards her. The star had been dating Matt for five years before ending their relationship after she took out a permanent restraining order against her former fella.

The actress also revealed in court documents that Matt had been physically and verbally abusive towards her.

Julie - who originally intervened when she suspected that Sarah was not coping in the relationship - admitted to Us Weekly that she felt she had to help her co-star out.

She said: "I'm just nosy. I stick my nose in anything and everything. I love my kids, my fake kids and my real kids. If anyone needs help, I'm a soft touch."
