TV presenter and comedian Jimmy Tarbuck is the latest television personality to be arrested over allegations of child sex abuse according to the BBC. 73 year old Tarbuck was arrested at his home on April 26th 'in connection with a historic child sex abuse investigation' according to a police statement.

'North Yorkshire Police can confirm that a 73-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a historic child sex abuse investigation in Harrogate,' a police statement read. 'Following questioning, he was released on police bail pending further inquiries. The complaint relates to an incident that occurred in the late 1970s when the victim was a young boy. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage.

The former TV show presenter and quiz show host was released on bail 'pending further enquiries'. The arrest is said to not be connected to Operation Yewtree, the case set up to investigate the historic child abuse carried out by Jimmy Savile and others, but the information came out of investigations being made by officers working on Operation Yewtree.

Tarbuck was known for hosting Sunday Night at the London Palladium and numerous variety and quiz shows including Winner Takes All and Full Swing, and was given an OBE for his work in showbusiness.
