Tina and Joe Simpson have been married for a lifetime in showbiz term, 34 years to be exact. That was all the time it took for Joe to allegedly announce he was gay. Really we should've read the signs sooner, like how he only too openly discussed his daughter's breast size without one iota of awkwardness.
Representatives for the couple are refuting claims that Joe Simpson declared his sexual leanings to his family two months ago, and we should probably listen to them given said claims were first printed in the National Enquirer.
The paper printed the following from a source: "Joe got the family together about two months ago and came out of the closet. He told them that he’d tried to continue in his marriage to Tina, but he couldn’t go on any longer and deny the fact that he had these feelings for men."
That might also explain his recent spate of DUI convictions.
There's obviously no mention of Joe catching the gay in the official divorce papers obtained by TMZ. They stipulate that "the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities" Or sexual preferences.
A spokesperson for the couple released the following statement: "It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved... Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."
