Jessica Simpson is reportedly in line to become a judge on American Idol. The actress/ singer/ hair extension designer is apparently in negotiations with the show’s producers to join the cast of the talent competition, and is said to have already met with the programme’s creator and producer, Simon Fuller, a few times to discuss her role. A source told US magazine Life & Style: "They like her-she's a good fit - and she likes it. Now it’s just a question of how to fit her in."
The source added that Simpson is not being recruited as a replacement for Simon Cowell, who is leaving the show to work on a US version of the X Factor. The source said: "Jessica's not his (Cowell’s) replacement - they’re two entirely different personalities (nooooo way). This is part of a massive overhaul of the show, there may be more judges, more opinions." Other celebrities also rumoured to become judges on the show include Chris Isaak and Justin Timberlake - the later being the better choice.
