Renner was involved in an accident with a snow plough near his home on Monday which left him with serious orthopaedic and blunt chest trauma injuries. Further details of the accident have emerged, and it's believed that Renner was helping a stranded motorist and had gotten out of the driver's seat to talk to them, when his own vehicle began to roll. It allegedly crushed him as he attempted to climb back in.

TMZ obtained alleged details of the 911 call that was made in the immediate aftermath, reporting that the actor was having "extreme difficulty breathing", that his upper torso was crushed and the right side of his chest had collapsed.

The vehicle, a plough better known as a Snowcat, is believed to weigh 6,500kg.
