Jennifer Hudson's 57-year-old mother and 29-year-old brother were found shot dead at their Chicago home last night, which they share with the Oscar winner. Jennifer’s seven-year-old nephew Julian King is reported to be missing. Police have arrested William Balfour, who is the estranged husband of Jennifer's sister, Julia, and who also lived at the house.
The shooting reportedly took place at 8am in the morning but wasn't reported until a relative (thought to be Julia) returned to the house, as "gunshot is so commonplace in that part of Chicago."
The investigation is ongoing.
*Update: Jennifer Hudson has identified the body of her 7-year-old nephew, which was found in an abandoned car. His stepfather, William Balfour, is still in police custody.
