Dubliner Murray Aston has been selected as the legendary Irish explorer who will face Heineken's 'Dropped' challenge. This global YouTube series will follow the exploits of legendary explorers from the world over who have been dropped in remote global locations with little more than their sense of direction and a singular challenge: to find their way home.

Last month Heineken launched their extensive search for the legendary Irish explorer - an exhaustive recruitment process featuring radio, real-life, web and a social media manhunt. Murray beat off competition from hundreds of contestants who turned up at the Heineken Dropped Embassy in Dublin to make their bid for the once in a lifetime prize. Watch how Murray was selected below:

Who knows what was in store for this intrepid explorer but if the experiences of previous Heineken Dropped adventurers is anything to go by - befriending bears in Alaska, dragging a one - ton ice block through the Sahara and navigating the backwaters of Cambodia in a giant rubber duck - it's likely that he's got a few new bar-side stories to add to his repertoire.

It has been confirmed that Murray has completed his task and made it back to Ireland but in order to find out just how he did that and where exactly he was dropped you’ll have to wait for the Irish episode of the global YouTube series.

Stay tuned to www.heineken.com/dropped for the Murray’s episode, set to hit next month.
