Spring is finally here and it's time to start switching up our wardrobe. Incorporating some cool key pieces gives the "Iconic Cool" look this season.

Keeping up with trends while making sure that we get versatile pieces is important, and so is having a good choice of styles to draw on for different occasions, from smart and sharp to informal and relaxed. Variety is the spice of life after all! So thanks to our friends at Arnotts, we’re going to take a look at a few "Iconic Cool" celebrity looks that can influence our style, with ideas on how to emulate them for ourselves.

Calvin Harris

Style and music have gone hand in hand for generations; from Bowie pushing the boundaries to the Beatles in their suits mixing clean cut lines with their shaggy, flowing locks. You can’t think of one without linking it to the other, and for a lot of us, our choice in music often influences our taste in clothes. As well as his incredible success in the charts, Calvin Harris is now a style icon. In only a few years he has revolutionised his style both on stage and on the red carpet, culminating in his appointment in his appointment as the new face of Emporio Armani. He is the essence of "Iconic Cool", providing plenty of inspiration for us to learn from too.

You don’t have to strip down to your boxers to take some tips from Mr. Harris, his casual style taps into the iconic look of a rock star – tones of colour, layering simple tees with timeless jackets and denim; the chart magician barely sets a foot wrong in the style stakes. The key to that is knowing what works for him, and sticking to it. He often opts for a colour palette of grey, white and black, touching on the trend for monochrome that will be big this Spring/Summer.

While pairing a t-shirt and jeans is hardly ground-breaking when it comes to fashion, it’s a simple look that’s easy to get right and can work for anything from a first date to a night out with the boys. Pair these grey G-Star slim fit jeans (€120) with a black print Diesel t-shirt (€75) for simplicity that matches tones throughout, giving a flow to your look from top to bottom.

The statement part of this outfit is the leather bomber, something that has been a key look for a few seasons now and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. It’s a modern take on a retro 1950s style that makes it timeless, meaning it should be in every man’s wardrobe. This Reiss leather jacket (€585) is all about simplicity and clean lines, making it stand out from the crowd on its own merit.

For this "Iconic Cool" look, accessories are a must. The addition of this black belt from Diesel (€40) and this Certina watch (€665) with leather strap demonstrates that you've put some thought into your style. Adding a splash of colour can be done by choosing footwear that draws the eye and shows a more adventurous twist, like these KG red high tops (€180) which complete the look.

Bradley Cooper

Cooper is as versatile as they come. He can be seen in indie flicks as well as big budget action movies and comedies. His style reflects that versatility, but his "Iconic Cool" look is best exemplified in how he wears a tailored suit. A key part of his wardrobe, it's perfect for anything from a summer wedding to a job interview, and no man should be without at least one good suit.

Here, Cooper works with tones of blue that are perfect for Spring/Summer 2015 and right on trend; a marked difference from the usual grey suits. While grey is classic and can work for a huge number of different occasions, stepping outside your usual palette is a way to make an impression, and gets plenty of attention. For Irish men in particular, blue suits are a softer alternative to harsher colours and compliment our skintone well. They are also a great way to inject a bit of colour into your suit wardrobe this Spring.

Cooper’s suit is a true blue, while there are a number of shades that you can pick from (anything from indigo to electric blue) to achieve a similar look, like this Austin Reed suit (Jacket €350; Trousers €175). With its sleek lines and rich colour, this three-piece suit is a modern classic, perfect for any Spring occasion.

When it comes to a formal look, accessories make or break it. Choosing the right ones shows an eye for detail, and it’s something people notice no matter the setting. Taking a leaf out of Bradley Cooper’s book, this Gagliardi print tie (€45) carries the blue theme through to the accessories, but the bold floral pattern is a subtle way of introducing another of this season’s trends into your look.

Complete your outfit with a classic, crisp white shirt like the one chosen here from Calvin Klein (€79.90). The white shirt will remain just as important as always for this Spring/Summer, and is a must-have for any man. It’s a piece that works as well in the pressured environment of a job interview (like having an old friend by your side) to something that you can team with a pair of slacks for a relaxed evening at the bar. Pair with a classic metallic Tissot watch (€725) and always have some Ray Bans (available in store) on hand for the bright Spring sunshine. Now you’re ready to steal the scene.
