The ex-footballer / constant fixture on below par TV programmes, has spoken out in sympathy about AshleyCole's infidelities. For those that didn't know, Ian did the dirt on his wife in 1997: "Ashley Cole has seen his world fall apart and I know what it's like. I've been in the same position and it's not very nice (aw, diddums. Does it help to know you've only yourself to blame?). There will always be girls who are willing to sell stories about footballers, or people who are on TV, and if I had thought about it properly I wouldn't have done it in the first place. So, Ashley has to be strong and try and get through this" (yep, the problem are those damned kiss and tell girls, and "people who are on TV", not philandering footballers who are willing to risk their wife's health by enjoying unprotected trysts with glorified prostitutes). I wish I could speak to him more regularly as I do like him. He has my telephone number and I hope he gives me a call." Presumably so you can both validate each other, dwelling on how hard done by and weak you both are. Why yes, I do feel quite strongly about this.
