He's doing it. Despite his bride-to-be calling things off five days before their first proposed wedding in June 2011, and then doing some kind of reality show off the back of it, and then moving in with Dr. Phil's son a few weeks later, Hugh Hefner is going to marry Crystal Harris.

The couple recently rescheduled their wedding and will tie the knot on New Year's Eve. A source told TMZ that they are determined to spend the rest of their lives together and were seen at a courthouse in Beverly Hills yesterday morning (04.12.12) where they filled in the necessary paperwork in order to make their upcoming ceremony legal.

The couple moved back in together last May after Crystal, 26, begged Hugh, 86, for forgiveness and are now preparing to wed at the Playboy mansion in Los Angeles.

According to insiders, the couple has only invited close friends and family members to celebrate their special day later this month. So Kelsey Grammer doesn't have to pretend to get a baby sitter again.

They are said to have completely resolved the problems, which previously led to the model getting 'cold feet'. Speaking after she backed out of the wedding last year, Crystal explained she knew it wasn't the right step for her - yet suddenly it now is: "I got cold feet. Over time I just realised it wasn't for me, it was all happening so fast. I actually spoke to Hef about it before I left and we both came to the decision that getting married wasn't the best for either of us."

Asked if the relationship was physical, she added: "In the beginning, but after a while it just wasn't the most important thing to him... There was couch cuddling, movie nights. Hef's like a big kid."

You don't say.
