Sometimes when people (namely famous people) try to cover something up because they don't want anyone finding out about it, they inadvertently end up bringing more attention to themselves and what it is they're hiding than anyone would have given without their stealthy efforts. This is known as the Streisand Effect. And Holly Valance really should have checked it out before she attempting to stop an Australian magazine publishing photos of her on holiday.

Valance tried to Australia's biggest gossip rag Woman's Day from printing pictures of her on holiday in Italy where she was blatantly showing off her as to now unknown of 5-months-gone baby bump, but a judge in Australia ruled against her as advance copies had already been sent out, with a further 70,000 copies gone to press. So instead of hiding the info, we now all know. Congrats Holls!

During the proceedings the judge said 'She has made an application today, Saturday afternoon, for an injunction to restrain the defendant from publishing, communicating or referring to certain photographs that were taken of her on a yacht off the Italian coast showing her in an advanced state of pregnancy.'

'I was told that she is five months pregnant. If the objective of the plaintiff is to protect her own opportunity to reveal the fact of her pregnancy at a time of her choosing, then that opportunity has been lost by the events which have occurred.'

Valance is married to a millionaire property big wig called Nick Candy (whose surname, let's be honest, she should never have taken as she is now legally Holly Candy and that just sounds like a stripper, or a Christmas treat) and both declined to comment following the judge's decision.
