Sherlock, tacos, burritos and finally champagne. We shouldn't be this excited but we are.

Developers looking to work on Apple's newest iOS, iOS 9.1, got their hands on the latest beta version of the operating system yesterday, inside of which lay a glimpse of all the wonderful new emojis that are coming our way.

Jumbled in with the existing emoji Unicode, paying Apple developers got their mitts on new characters in all the categories with smileys, animals, food, weather, et al. all getting some necessary and some not so necessary but amazing none the less updates.

Amongst others yet to be announced, we're getting our fingers and thumbs on long awaited emojis such as a block of cheese, popcorn, robots, more sports (including a weightlifter for all you gym nuts who've been denied an emoji for your passion for far too long), a satellite, swords, a coffin (because nothing says emoji like a funeral), a synagogue and a mosque, a hot dog, a lion and, best of all, a unicorn.

Other welcome newbies include a long-overdue beach emoji as well as the desert and plenty of obscure flowers and medals and animals but mostly we're here for the unicorn and the champagne. And the burrito of course.

There's no release date as of yet for the new iOS release but it should be before the end of the year, not long after the new iPhone 6s comes out realistically. And then we'll be able to 'burrito emoji' 'interrobang emoji' to our hearts content.
