The country has officially battened down the hatches as we all await this end of days hurricane that is on the way. If you're not inside right now, get in already! Ophelia is coming for us and she is expected to be the worst storm we have seen in more than fifty years - as hard as that is to believe in some parts of the country right now.

So just when exactly can we expect the arrival of this Ophelia? Met Eireann has said when and where it's set to be at its worst in Ireland today, take a look below:

From 07:00: Coastal areas of counties Cork and Kerry.

From 09:00: Remaining parts of Munster.

From 12:00: South Leinster and Galway.

From 13:00: Dublin and remaining Leinster.

From 15:00: North Connacht and Ulster.

The heaviest rainfall will be in Connacht and parts of west Ulster and west Munster while the most severe winds on the east coast are forecast for the afternoon and early evening.

Stay safe out there all!
